This page explains how we handle client data when we work together. If you have a question it doesn't answer, email contact@valtiernyc.com.

During the audit

• We ask for read-only exports (timekeeping, payroll register, invoice history). We do not ask for write access to your systems.
• You send files to us through a Google Drive folder set up for your company and shared only with the people named on your engagement.
• Files are stored in Google Drive under our Google Workspace account and encrypted at rest.
• Only the people working on your audit can open your files.
• We use your data only to run the audit you asked for.

During cleanup

• We draft corrections and re-bills for your review. Nothing goes to one of your clients without your sign-off.
• We make no changes inside your systems unless you approve them in writing first.

During monitoring

• Monitoring runs in the Valtier desktop app on your own computer. Your exports are read there and stay on your machine.
• Checks that use AI send the data they need to Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
• Exception reports are sent by email to the people you name.

Accounts and access

• Our email, storage and hosting accounts all require multi-factor sign-in.
• Each person gets only the access their role needs, and access is removed when someone leaves a project.
• Client data is not kept on personal devices.

Keeping and deleting data

When an engagement ends, we delete your files within 30 days unless you ask us to keep them or the law requires us to. On request, we confirm deletion in writing.

Service providers

We use these providers to store or process client data: Google Workspace (email and file storage) and Anthropic (AI processing through its API).

If something goes wrong

If we learn that your data has been exposed, we will tell you as soon as we confirm it, and within 72 hours, explain what happened, and tell you what we are doing about it.
